What
can threaten a man’s fertility?
It seems that nothing can be more natural that to produce a
child. But unfortunately today health of many men and women
does not allow to do it in a natural way. If the couple cannot
conceive a child for one year or so, it means that they
have fertility problem.
Those dark times when everybody was sure that infertility was
only a woman’s disease, have already passed away. Now
statistics say that a third of infertility cases are due to
male infertility. According to researches, 10% of Americans
face the infertility problem. Just imagine, it’s about 6.1
million!
Men’s infertility can be caused
by ejaculation
problems, abnormal sperm and low sperm count. Also a
man sometimes cannot produce a sperm at all.
An abnormality of sperm means that is was malformed or has a
short life period which is not enough to fertilize a woman’s
egg.
In general words, we can say, that your fertility depends
upon your general health.
If you have no health problems, there is a big chance that
there are no problems with your sperm too.
You sperm health is based upon your lifestyle habits. It can
be threatened by using nicotine, drugs and alcohol.
According to all researches, smoking significantly decreases
the sperm quality and count. Now you can increase your sperm
count easily using different volume pills.
One of the most common reasons of infertility is
malnutrition, especially when we have a deal with deficiency in
zinc and vitamin C.
Among the most severe reasons of both male and female
infertility are different infections like tuberculosis, fevers,
adult mumps, anemia or sexually transmitted diseases like
Chlamydia or gonorrhea.
Be careful, because during a sexual intercourse you can easily
transmit your infection to your partner making her infertile.
Also, you must check if you suffer from epididymitis,
prostatitis or orchitis.
Male infertility can be also caused by the long-term use of
some medications. Among them there are cancer-treating agents,
antidiarrheal sulfasalazine, anti-fungal medication like
ketonazole, azulfidine and such antibiotics as nitrofurans and
macrolides.
Before starting to take any medicine, read Addiction and get
professional advice from a doctor. Also, be careful using
anabolic steroids which are known to cause infertility and
testicular shrinkage.
Male infertility can be threatened by trauma, testes injury
and testosterone deficiency. Also it can be structural
abnormality of vas deferens or varicocele, when a varicose of
testes veins provokes overheat of testicle and as a result
death of sperm cells.
As we already said at the beginning some threats to your
fertility are connected with your lifestyle, especially with
stress level and intensive exercises. When you exercise a lot,
your body produces excessive amounts of adrenal steroid
hormones which decrease the amount of testosterone. Any source
of heat is also harmful to your sperm health.
Avoid hot tubs, saunas, overheated vehicles, hot work
environment, jogging in tight underwear. Such substances as
pesticides, paint, lead, benzene, radiation (even X-ray),
boron, mercury and heavy metals are very dangerous not only for
your fertility, but for your general health also.
